The “Irena Anastasia Bregu” Dance School,

in cooperation with the “Kalyva SA” Summer Camp (one of the largest summer holiday camps for children in Greece located in a magnificent 200 acre pine forest in Metamorfosi, Chalkidiki) has the honor to welcome all children and teenagers who are involved in dancing or similar activities. We are organizing the 2nd International Dance Camp, run by the teacher and owner of our school Irena Bregu in collaboration with experienced teachers from Greece and abroad. The dance classes to be taught are classical ballet, repertoire of classical ballet, contemporary, modern, character, choreography workshop, musical, acrobatics, hip-hop, and traditional dances.

Our mission

• Offer a unique summer vacation experience and dance classes for children from 6 to 16 years of age.
• Encourage friendship and understanding among children, representatives of different cultures and languages of the world.
• Help develop team spirit and cooperation.
• Teach young children how to make their first steps away from their family and home and to become responsible and self-sufficient.
• Offer athletic and artistic activities appropriate to each child individually in order to highlight their personal talent and help their progress.
• Awaken the children's desire for learning and exploration, encouraging their active participation in all daily activities.
• Help children discover the natural beauty and culture of Greece.
• Develop their personality by collecting great experiences from their holidays, returning to their family home cheerfully but also more mature.

Activities

The daily program includes two different technique categories, such as ballet, modern / contemporary, jazz / repertoire, character / hip-hop, musicals, etc. Along with the technical classes, students are offered additional activities such as improvisation, composition, overturning, pedagogy, dance history and choreography. Class levels are offered to each idiom in order to better facilitate both the beginner and the advanced student

Daily program:

• 08:00 Musical awakening.
• 08:00 – 08:30 Personal hygiene.
• 08:30 – 0 9:00 Breakfast.
• 09:00 – 10:30 Dance lesson.
• 10:30 – 12:30 Swimming in the sea.
• 12:30 – 12:45 Brunch.
• 12:45 – 13:30 Flexibility exercises.
• 13:30 – 14:15 Lunch.
• 14:15 – 17:00 Quiet hours.
• 17:00 – 17:15 Afternoon meal.
• 17:15 – 19:15 Dance lesson.
• 19:15 – 20:30 Free time or swimming in the pool.
• 20:30 – 21:15 Dinner.
• 21:15 – 23:00 Improvisation, choreography, composition, pedagogics.
• 23:00 Good night!

Free program during the weekend, including sightseeing in various places and beaches, archaeological sites, local events, dance performances etc.

The dance camp reserves the right to make changes to the program.

Children should bring dancing bodysuits, soft shoes, pointe, character shoes, stockings, and modern dance clothing. Also bed sheets, pillowcases, sleeping bag (optionally), towels (for swimming, bath, and facial), lots of underwear, socks, sports clothing, sport shoes, long pants, sweaters or cardigans, swimsuits, flip flops, sun hat, sunscreen, pool cap, flashlight.

Health and safety

Our priority is the safety and the excellent condition of all the campers. We make every effort to act as custodians, friends and teachers of the children and make sure they enjoy a happy holiday. We offer a state-of-the-art doctor's office (infirmary) with a fully-equipped pharmacy, working 24 hours a day, staffed by an experienced pediatrician and two qualified nurses. In the event of an emergency, we are only 20 minutes away from Polygyros Hospital. Liability insurance, complete firefighting and fire protection system, 165 kWh automatic electricity generator in the event of a power outage, supply of drinking water from the grid, strict adherence to hygiene rules, certified ISO 22000 food management system, HACCP, 2 fire alarms, 24-hour security, strict entrance and exit control for campers and visitors, night lighting, disinfection and disinfestation at regular intervals.
